The Ekhaya Weekly- Who is playing and what is at stake -Ekhaya FC

It’s a relatively quiet week for our senior side, but there’s still plenty of football to follow across the Ekhaya FC family.

With the main team resting, the spotlight turns to the Women’s debut, Reserve dominance, and U-19 momentum. Here is how this week looks like at Ekhaya FC:

Main Team–  Week Off, Eyes on Mafco

The senior Cowboys are exempted from league action this week following a 3-1 defeat away to Silver Strikers.

Currently 5th in the TNM Super League with 14 games played, the team has notched 7 wins, 2 draws, and 5 defeats, scoring 15 goals and conceding 9.

They now prepare to wrap up the first round of their debut top-flight season with a home tie next week against Mafco FC, who face FCB Nyasa Big Bullets this weekend before heading to Blantyre.

Women’s Team- League Debut Incoming

The wait is finally over! The Cowgirls begin their FAM Women’s Regional League journey this weekend with an away fixture in Zomba. They will take on Allan Ladies at Works Ground, with kickoff set for 14:30 hrs.

Reserves- Top Spot on the Line

League leaders Ekhaya Reserves return to action this week after their last fixture was postponed.

In a 12:30 lunchtime kickoff at Mpira Stadium, they will host Zingwangwa United in a high-stakes match.

The Reserves currently sit top of the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League with 30 points from 12 games, three ahead of second-placed FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves (who’ve played one more match).

They’ve won 10 straight matches after losing their first two, scoring 23 goals and conceding none in draws- because they haven’t had any.

U-19s- Unbeaten Run Continues

Our junior Cowboys will look to extend their unbeaten start to the season as they host Yizo Yizo at the Chilomoni Stadium with kick-off at 8:00AM, one of the league’s long-standing sides.

After a narrow 1-0 victory last weekend, the U-19s now sit 3rd on the table with 7 points from 3 games, just two behind leaders Soche Madrid.

With 2 wins, 1 draw, and a goal tally of 4 scored and 2 conceded, the team is looking sharp early in the campaign.
